What’s Included with Your Norwegian Cruise

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) offers a flexible, value-packed experience that emphasizes freedom of choice through its signature Freestyle Cruising approach. While the base fare covers many essential amenities, guests can personalize their experience through add-on packages or by upgrading to a higher-tier stateroom, including access to The Haven, Norwegian’s premium suite complex with enhanced services and inclusions.

Dining

Each Norwegian cruise includes access to several complimentary dining venues including the ship’s main dining rooms, buffet, and casual eateries. These serve a rotating menu of international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Options like The Local Bar & Grill and the Garden Café buffet are included, while specialty restaurants such as Cagney’s Steakhouse, Le Bistro and Teppanyaki are available for an additional charge or as part of a specialty dining package.

Beverages

Basic beverages are included at no extra cost, such as filtered water, iced tea, lemonade, regular coffee and select juices during breakfast. Soda, bottled water, specialty coffees and alcoholic beverages are not included in the standard fare but can be added through beverage packages. Norwegian offers several options, including the Unlimited Open Bar Package and Soda Package, to suit different needs and preferences.

Gratuities

Gratuities are not included in the cruise fare and are automatically added to guest accounts as a daily service charge. As of 2025, the standard rates are $20 per person, per day for most staterooms and $25 per person, per day for guests in The Haven or suite accommodations. These charges cover tips for crew members including dining staff, housekeeping and other onboard services. Guests may adjust gratuities at the Guest Services desk if desired.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is not included in the standard cruise fare. Norwegian offers a range of internet packages, from basic web browsing to streaming and video conferencing. Packages can be purchased in advance or onboard, with discounted pricing available pre-cruise. Guests in The Haven or with certain promotions may receive a limited number of free minutes or a streaming package as part of their booking.

Fitness and Entertainment

All guests have access to the ship’s fitness center, pools, hot tubs and outdoor sports courts. Complimentary entertainment includes Broadway-style shows, live music, comedy acts and themed parties. Access to the spa, thermal suites and fitness classes may carry an additional fee unless included as part of a spa package or suite benefit.

Youth Programs

Norwegian’s youth programming is complimentary for guests ages 3 to 17. The Splash Academy offers supervised, age-specific activities, while the Entourage teen club provides a dedicated hangout space for older kids. The Guppies program offers interactive parent-child playtime for children under age 3. Late-night group babysitting is available for an additional fee on select sailings.
