Whether you are sailing for the first time or returning for another magical voyage, Disney Cruise Line makes it easy for families to create lasting memories. With thoughtfully designed clubs, themed activities and a warm, welcoming environment, kids of all ages can stay entertained while parents enjoy time to relax. Disney’s youth programming is imaginative, well-organized and infused with the magic and storytelling families expect from Disney.

Youth Programs

Disney’s youth spaces are grouped by age and include interactive, character-driven programming led by trained youth counselors. Each area is designed to reflect the interests and needs of its specific age group, blending fun, learning and creativity:

  • “it’s a small world” Nursery (6 months–3 years): This cozy, colorful nursery provides care for the youngest cruisers in a soothing and playful setting. Toys, games and quiet areas are available throughout the space. Parents can reserve nursery time for an additional fee and space is limited.
  • Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab (Ages 3–12): These two connected areas offer an ever-changing lineup of activities and themed spaces inspired by Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. Kids can explore Andy’s Room, Marvel Super Hero Academy or Star Wars: Cargo Bay, depending on the ship. Daily programming includes storytelling, crafts, science experiments, cooking projects, games and character visits. The clubs are highly secure, and children must be registered and signed in and out by authorized adults.
  • Edge (Ages 11–14): Tweens can enjoy a space of their own at Edge, where the atmosphere encourages independence and social interaction. Programming includes guided games, trivia, karaoke, movies, arts and crafts and other interactive activities. The setting is casual and supervised by youth staff.
  • Vibe (Ages 14–17): Vibe is a stylish lounge just for teens, with video games, movies, music, dance parties and a smoothie bar. Activities include themed nights, talent shows and group games. The vibe is relaxed and teen-friendly, offering a supervised space that still feels independent and age-appropriate.

Facilities

Disney Cruise Line ships feature vibrant, immersive environments designed just for kids and teens. Each youth space is themed and technology-rich, with areas for active play, creative expression and character interaction. Outdoor play areas, pools, water coasters, sports courts and family-friendly splash zones are also available, including Nemo’s Reef and Toy Story Splash Zone on select ships.

Special Programs

Disney integrates storytelling and character experiences into its youth programming. Kids may be visited by favorite Disney characters or engage in themed programming tied to events like Marvel Day at Sea or Star Wars Day at Sea. Additional special offerings may include behind-the-scenes animation lessons, themed dress-up parties and Disney-themed scavenger hunts.

Planning Considerations

All youth programs are included in the cruise fare, with the exception of the “it’s a small world” Nursery. Hours of operation are designed to align with shipboard and port schedules. Registration for youth clubs takes place on embarkation day, and families can manage check-in preferences and daily schedules through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

From interactive play areas to themed parties and character experiences, Disney Cruise Line offers youth programming that keeps kids entertained while providing peace of mind for parents.
